Remember when rap videos were at the height of their excess and artistic prowess, somewhere around 95/96 or so? When motherfuckers debuted videos, that had prologues, epilogues, “to be continued..” postscripts, and cameos from real actors? Mostly I’m thinking of shit like, Puffy and Mase’s “Can’t Nobody Hold Me Down” and Mariah Carey’s “Honey” remix video. Both of those joints had extended cuts that were a good eight or ten minutes long, just because Puff and Mariah share a love of extravagance.
Unfortunately, it’s 2013 and nobody has money for fucking helicopters and pyrotechnics, all in the video stealing the spotlight. However, dudes can still put together the extra long posse cut for a remix and invite a bunch of broads with loose morals over to the crib to shoot a seven minute epic video. Despite economic changes, the spirit of hip hop never dies. Sicksentz‘s new video for the “Death Adders” remix features Lakutis, Heron, DVS, Mr. Muthafuckin eXquire and a whole bunch of debased party chaos. Oddly enough while being debased, it’s also very #based.
Get you mind open to this fairly NSFW, video from Sicksetnz and friends. If one fo your coworkers walks by and sees you looking at an alien broad with her tits out, just pull a wad of ones out of your pocket and throw em in dude’s face while whispering “take that, take that”. Remember keep the spirit of hip hop alive, extravagance is the 5th element.- raythedestroyer
