Stones Throw’s M.E.D. and Blu, are collaborating to make The Burgundy EP; a mid February release that features both rappers going in over Madlib beats. No samples of the music have been released, but the album artwork has and it’s dope.

It looks like a really old coloring book or something you’d draw in a really boring lecture; white background, old Warner Brother’s cartoons, and a ton of superpowers. Do the nods to the Warner Brothers’ cartoons subliminally attack Blu’s former employers? Will this hold us over until DOOM and Madlib finally get back together for Madvillainy 2? Only time will tell. I’m looking forward to the launch of this EP, as all the artists involved are innovative in their specific ways. Specifically, who can resist suave Madlib beats?
