The lastest entry in the Redbull Music Academy’s H∆SHTAG$ series of music documentaries covers the rise of cloudrap. There’s interviews with Main Attrakionz, Rob Banks, Spaceghostpurrp, Flatbush Zombies and Piff Gang where dudes spend a lot of time talking about the internet, regionalism in hip hop, and drugs. Robb Banks declares the “TV Age” dead, because he’s an authority on such things. Some pussies get popped, and some dudes do the cooking dance in slow motion. Rap game looking like the Sundance Film Festival. There’s a couple of talking head interviews with “cloudrap experts”, including a webcam interview with a British (Australian?) journalist, where she breaks down the diferences between swag rap, cloud rap, and trillwave. Dudes with high levels of interest specific thirst, that don’t talk to women on the regular, will be sure to fuck with those segments extra hard.
Really enjoying how these documentaries tackle topics that music nerds have been bullshitting about for months and put them into concise, bite size packages, for people that don’t get into arguments over their preferred stolen music providers (shoutout to Zippyshare, y’all the 5th element of hip hop).- raythedestroyer
