GrandeMarshall and Assad Slow Burn For The Late Night
Producer/rapper GrandeMarshall joined forced with local Philly rapper Asaad for “Boathouse Row”. This single features a Grande produced beat that sounds like a combination of a black and white mob movie with anime Samurai Champloo’s trill jazz-hip hop soundtrack. As usual, GrandeMarshall delivers with a clear, laid back flow, sounding like an old, unaffected gangster recounting a murder over a Sunday bowl of pasta.
On the flip side, Asaad, who only comes in for the last third of the song, is a strong contrast to GrandeMarshall’s chill vibe. His voice and flow invokes passion, cutting through the haze of the beat. If the beat is Goodfellas, Grande is Ray Liotta and Assad is Joe Pesci.
