GaBLé is not exactly the kind of band you can describe without it sounding a bit unappealing. They are three French weirdos from Normandy who blend punk, folk and electronic music into what could be ubnfairly described as adult animated bedtime stories. Sometimes it’s just nonsense though. But the good news for you is that they sing in English so you don’t have to be scared to give it a try. They have recorded about ten albums in as many years, used every instrument possibly available to mankind (from doors to crickets to xylophones), some sounding rougher than others because that’s how they felt in the moment and who could tell them to do otherwise? They also greatly enjoy writing in capital letters, especially (but not exclusively) consonants for some reason. In all, I have really enjoyed seeing the evolution of their fringy aesthetic in the past few years and I am always delighted to hear some new material.
Independent, DIY and just silly enough to make each new album a little more interesting than the last, you will be delighted to learn that you too can listen to their brand new effort called MuRDeD now streaming at French website Mowno all this week before it officially drops on March 18th. You can also catch up on their previous albums (streaming only) on their Bandcamp.- Gnou
