Stephen King is the uncontested God of thriller and horror books. You’ve seen the movie adaptations of Misery and The Shining. That damn clown from It is most likely, the cause of a generation of coulrophobiacs—people who are afraid of clowns—but King’s biggest claim to fame has to be Carrie. The story of a telekenetic, bullied teenage outcast who’s has to cope with a crazy, abusive, religious mother is one of the biggest teenage horror movies, ever.
Since every really good idea for a movie was originally made twenty or thirty years ago, we apparently need to recreate them and make new versions. Say hello to Carrie. This version of the movie is based more on the book than the previous movie and features an all-star cast. Carrie is played by Chloe Grace Moretz, who’s budding stardom has probably caught your attention in films such as Kick-Ass or Hugo. Her crazy fucking eccentric mother is Julianne Moore. Funny she should play an insane Christian with no soul. I guess it proves that gingers, really have no soul.
Although the trailer is short and doesn’t show enough for us to judge the movie, with the talent involved, I’m pretty sure this is gonna be a sick remake.- Arianna Aviram
