Toro Y Moi’s Side Project Chiller Than We Thought Possible
Chaz Bundick aka Toro y Moi, is arguably the father of the synth pop/chill wave revivial. Bundick’s unique voice and dreamy, throwback production has left heads bobbing and people dancing. Not quite baby making music, but there’s some rejoicing and unity through the masses he performs for. Dudes get the feels. Chaz’s side project, Les Sins, gives us those similar fresh synth-vibes, but this time we don’t get as much of a feel for singing. Bundick continues to somehow be the best producer of rap beats, that isn’t a producer of rap beats and a one man electro jazz revival. Way to carry that torche for Bill Cosby sweater freak out dance jams.
“Prelim” and “Grind” are Les Sins’s two newest tracks and are dope as fuck. I feel like Les Sins is Squirtle and Toro Y Moi is Wartortle. Where is Blastoise? Hopefully, Chaz Bundick has something up his sleeve to see the full evolution of his musical genius. “Prelim/Grind” is available for digital download on Toro Y Moi’s soundcloud and 12″ purchase here.

Glad u posted this. I was just talking about this project yesterday, and I think everything Chaz does is perfection. Had the pleasure of meeting him in atlanta a few years ago, and he’s the chilliest dude ever. One of the best artists of our generation.
