A few years ago, Mumdance was everywhere. He started out as the lost member of Ruff Sqwad until he got Jammer to lay some bars on a Diplo Remix of the Black Lips and became fueled by the great Mad Decent power juice for collabs with Brodinski, Cerebral Ballzy, or AC Slater. And then a couple of years ago, he became scarce.
The story goes that he locked himself up in the countryside of his native Britain; not sure if that’s true, but the results are there: Twists and Turns is a resolutely UK release. Which may or may not surprising from somebody so deeply steeped in early UK Grime, but is certainly a change from his latest globetrotting, maximal releases. This is more in the vein of the Night Slugs and stripped down to its most essential, scorching elements.
