Lee Trice may or may not have been raised by dolphins. Dolphins may or may not have language. They definitely have sex for fun and fight sharks on the regular. Pretty cool mammals to be raised by, if you’re not going to be raised by humans. Don’t get adopted by monkeys, they hurl shit.

Foster parentage aside, Lee Trice is definitely an artist. An artist who makes work reminiscent of first wave Walt Disney characters, after they’ve spent sixty years on the wrong side of the tracks; forgotten, angry, drunk, and bitter. Permanently stuck with the not-a-care-in-the-world grin, they were originally animated with. Grimm.

Obviously, we enjoy such thematically conflicted work, so Trice will be displaying some of his newest pieces at 350 Broadway this Friday April 19th from 7-11PM. Come by check out the artwork, ponder how it reflects on your own tortured existence, and ask Trice what it was like growing up “under da sea”. Get a couple drinks in him and see what’s good with mermaids.

Some of you may know Jonny Negron from his work in the comics world, maybe you picked up his first book Negron when it dropped this fall. Possibly, you fancy yourself a collector of low meets high brow art and have purchased one of his prints of scantily clad women. If you’re not up on Negron’s work, just know this, he once contributed a comic called “Granddaddy Purple, Erotic Gameshow” to a ‘zine called Thickness—which features erotic tales of women that Sisqo would label as having “dumps like a truck”. Weed references, illustrated adventures of broads like Blac Chyna.  Move over Basquiat, Jonny Negron is your favorite rapper’s new favorite artist—that he’s never heard of.

We’ll be having a show on March 8th at 350 Broadway showing Negron’s latest works, along with a limited edition shirt featuring his artwork. This is the perfect opportunity for you to appreciate art and satiate your most base desires. No watching the “story” part of a p-no, does not count as appreciating erotic art. That’s what we in the literary world call “world building”. Lonely dudes call it foreplay. Put that MFA to use while talking about the “anime influenced perspectives”, “embracing of sexuality reminiscent of R. Crumb”, and “seductive lighting on the asses”. Show that you were paying attention that time you spent a summer with your cousins down in Georgia and remark that the girls in Negron’s illustrations are “thicker than a cold plate of grits”.

This past Friday we had our first art show fo the new year at 350 Broadway, welcoming your boy Bonethrower and his maddening art into the store like a newborn baby. Except we generally ask that you don’t bring babies to the store as it’s the opposite of childproofed, there’s tons of frightening and brightly colored inappropriate shit here.

Beers were drank (shoutout to PBR for coming through with the drinks), art was consumed. Revelry was had by all, despite the snowy conditions outside. Inside, the mood was warm and the colors were hot. Lots of discussions were had about the nature of Bonethrower’s art and what kind of drugs he must be taking. This is kind of awkward when you realize dude is standing behind you, while you pray amateur art critic/psychologist. Experiences like this, and more, can be had when you come down to a Mishka art show. It’s like Disneyland for awkward, slightly drunken experiences revolving around art.

Our man Cities Aviv came through to perform some songs off of his new release Black Pleasure, while Main Attrakonz brought the Bay to Brooklyn. A$ton Matthews showed up brandishing a wrestling belt like he was the new interontinental champion and Haleek Maul shut down the party with Supreme Cuts.

Мишка NYC and Classic Media, owner of some of the world’s leading family entertainment brands, are collaborating to present the release of the Мишка x Harvey Comics™ Capsule Collection at our Brooklyn store on Friday November 16th. Мишка and Classic Media have been working together to create a collection of varied clothing that blends the aesthetic and imagery of both brands, while showcasing Harvey Comics characters Casper the Friendly Ghost,Richie Rich, The Ghostly Trio, Spooky the Tuff Little Ghost, Hot Stuff the Little Devil, Wendy the Good Little Witch, andBaby Huey.
