There are countless dope aspects to a tee shirt with a huge print of a severed zombie head. I will attempt to go over some of these beneficial aspects with you. Throw it on.  Feel protected. Our Art Director Mike Jones‘ show No Time For Love is a hallucinatory trip through 25 years of pop culture fandom and creation, and now it’s available for you to purchase in our Online Store! Take home a piece of Mike Jones’ artistic genius and look at it every day! There are original drawings which are limited to one, as well as large size prints of pieces like “Divine Intervention” and “Dropout.”

Wowee zowee, wasn’t the opening night of Mishka Art Director Mike Jones‘ No Time For Love a blast? What’s that? Not all of you were there?? Shame on you! As the many guests who were can attest, it was an amazing party full of friends, beverages, spirited games of Gin Rummy, art, zines, the comedic stylings of Earthworm Jim and much much more*.

Luckily, our photographer Tara was there to photograph the whole event so you can get a taste of what you missed, plus a bonus look at Mike Jones’ art, all of which (well, at least the stuff that didn’t sell on the spot) will be available on our online store, along with Zines featuring printings of all the pieces. There’s Mike Jones himself, cheezin’ in some plaid in front of his work, including the amazing KISS/TMNT figurines. There’s a full gallery of photos after the jump.

We’ve been tryina step our game up recently as far as carrying select items from other brands that we dig on in our online store, whether it be the biker imagery inspire SSUR or the colorful allover print hats from Skulls Barcelona. Are you ready to behold the work of a man who’s been called an evil genius, an exceedingly pleasant genius, a half-shell hero, a tumblr maestro, and an internet warrior? Then get yourself down to the 350 Broadway store this Friday for the opening of Мишка Art Director Mike Jones‘ debut solo show, No Time For Love.

Though Dr. Jones may have no time for love, he’s found it in his gif of a beating heart to put together for you all a singularly skewed vision of the iconography of popular culture. Spanning 25 years of inspiration, Jones has created a fully flipped tour through his life and times as a consumer and creator of art, advertising, music, movies, and more. No Time For Love features drawn work, graphical pieces, and even a toy collaboration with David Healey that is sure to raise some SHELL, if you know what I mean. All of the work has been monochromatically optimized to be collected in a limited edition Zine that will be readily available for a low, low price throughout the event, so everyone can take a piece of No Time For Love home.

Though the show will be occupying the store for six weeks, there’s only one opening night, so you better come down this Friday to party with us and, of course, Mike Jones himself as we celebrate the sure-to-be smash success of No Time For Love.

About a month ago the awesome Autre Ne Veut came to our 350 Broadway store and threw down a seriously awesome performance. His intense, harried style of R’n'B was perfect for the intimate setting of the store, an effect which was enhanced by the candlelit ambiance of it all. He played songs old and new, including some that haven’t even been released yet.

It’s a bummer that you all couldn’t make it. But don’t worry, Yr Friend Matthew Caron was there to film the whole shebang for you to watch. Remember, Vimeo is the next best thing to real life! I’m embedded a few of them above, and there’s even more goodness available here.
