Hold Your Questions, Twiztid Has All Answers!

Wednesday, March 13th, 2013

“It’s not about what happened. It’s about what’s happening…now!”

This is the philosophy of former Psychopathic Records recording artist Twiztid. They’re starting a new chapter in their careers and not looking back; it’s a very exciting chapter for juggalos, fans of music, and everyone involved. The super talented Detroit based veterans of the mic announced they were back on the grind—after a small hiatus since leaving Psychopathic—with this “press conference” video late last night. Chemistry between the two is never lacking, so you find yourself laughing all the way through the video, while you find out the current happenings in the realm of Twiztid. Edutainment at its finest.

Be sure to check them out on the 2nd leg of their Abominationz Tour, as they’re one of the all time best live rap acts to ever grace the stage. It’s rare to get an hour show of non stop rapping & theatrics, let alone done right. Watching the video, you’ll notice that these boys got style; and yes, you too buy that sweet ass Olde School Jacket Monoxide’s wearing, plus it’s on sale right now!

So peep the video and keep watch as there will be much more coming forth from Twwwwiiiizzzzztttiiiiddddd!

Behold The Juggalo

Monday, October 22nd, 2012

When we here at Mishka have any questions, concerns, or quandaries about the goings on in the Dark Carnival, we’re lucky to have the inimitable resource of both our own Kev Buc and also bro/sis photographer team The Shaltzes to field any and all requests. The latter have spent years capturing the lives of Juggalos in various visual medium, including the photo show that they opened at 350 Broadway in 2010. Above you can see a little video they did at this year’s Gathering.

It’s making me even more upset that I had to miss this go around. I had my tickets and everything! Unforeseen circumstances prevented my attendance, but this video (and the promise of many Faygo baths – pause – next year) will have to suffice. Look out for some cameos by Mishka stuff (not to mention monsieur Kevin).

Lil Juggalo Records The Best Song Ever?

Friday, April 13th, 2012

Immediately after typing that title I realized that there is probably a legitimate (and I use that term so loosely) musician who’s name is actually Lil Juggalo, but I refuse to Google it because I don’t want it ruined either way. But if there isn’t I think this dude has quite the recording contract in his future.

I’m also having a sad realization that this kid is probably legitimately cooler than I was at his age. Is he cooler than I am now? Uh-oh…

Belgium Wierdo Swag Courtesy of #TeamPanini!

Thursday, February 9th, 2012

I told you when I last did a post about this crew it wouldn’t be the last. I’m not quite sure what the hell they are talking about, but I’m sure it’s tripped out and full of swag per usual. “#BEEST” as a video takes a journey into the typical morning of the men behind those SweetTeam masks that we know and love. It’s also the newest installment in the musical journey from #TeamPanini.

“Got Damn” is far more hype including dubstep and grime elements to smack your eardrums with that swag straight from Antwerp, Belgium. Go rep #TeamPanini on twitter and follow the mastermind behind it allhimself, #SWEK!

Crazy Meets Crazy: Nick Gazin Interviews Juggalo Beat Legend, Mike E. Clark

Wednesday, December 21st, 2011

Here at the Bloglin I assume you are all very familiar with the Insane Clown Posse and Juggalos in general by now, but you might not know the man who should very well be ICP’s third member. The man which who I am speaking of is none other than Mike E. Clark. Clark has been ICP’s producer from the moment they changed from “Inner City Posse” to “Insane Clown Posse”. He was also in the studio producing for the likes of Esham, Kid Rock, Twiztid, and George Clinton to name a few. M.E.C. is THE sound we know and love when it comes to I.C.P., he laid it down for every album they did from 1992-1999 and is continuing on with the last few albums put out by the clowns.

I could go on about this stuff for days, but that’s not why I’m here. The reason I am here is to bring you this interview our buddy Nick Gazin did with the man himself. Some people might or might not know that Nick is an old fan of I.C.P. from years back, so I guess it’s fitting he was granted this interview for Vice. It’s a good read especially if you’re a juggalo because you then know M.E.C. is almost like an enigma and has been in the shadows for years and years. As a bonus it has I.C.P.’s brand new video for “It’s All Over” for your viewing pleasure. I salute you for this one Gazin, I might even share one of my last Rock & Rye Faygos with you now…

ICP Are In The Closet

Sunday, November 27th, 2011

Sup ninjas! Over the past few months I’ve been enjoying Saturday Night Live writer Mike O’Brien’s webseries 7 Minutes In Heaven. They’re basically odd little interviews carried out in a closet (Mike’s closet perhaps?) with some of Hollywood’s funniest peeps, and original music by Magnolia Memoir. Imagine my delight this week when I saw that the guests Mike has russled up were none other than the Insane Clown Posse themselves, Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope.

If you’ve ever seen an ICP show (I caught my first about a month ago), you’ll know that these two gents are extremely charismatic, and are down to poke some serious fun at themselves with Mr. O’Brien. Heck, Violent J even gets his smooch on with Mike at the end. At least one comes out every week, you should check some other ones out. Whoop whoop!

Recap: ICP’s American Psycho Tour Hits NYC!!!

Saturday, October 29th, 2011

It’s been a while since I’ve laced the bloglin with some juggalo infused flavor, but it’s about that time again. There has been a lot happening in the juggalo world in recent times. Twiztid and Blaze were arrested for felony weed possession, ICP was on 1,000 ways to die, and this was just this week alone. Speaking of this week, this past Tuesday The American Psycho Tour invaded NYC’s Hammerstein Ballroom and left it a faygo soaked shell of a venue. This tour featured the likes of juggalo favorites Wolfpac, Big Hutch, Blaze Ya Dead Homie, Twiztid, and of course the Insane Clown Posse. ICP has been making it back to NYC after being banned for almost 10 years. They played a sold out Gramercy Theater back in April which was followed by a midnight cruise around Manhattan after party. You can check out the  pics from that night right here. (Can you find myself and art director, Mike Jones?)

The show had a good turnout of juggalos new and old. I saw a lot of familiar faces from years past which was pretty cool. I met up with my buddy Jason Shaltz whom you might remember from his Juggalo art gallery we featured at 350 Broadway almost one year ago and who also has a Juggalo Movie in the works which was recently covered here on the bloglin. We grabbed our lady friends (first timers) and made our way to the front. The crowd was into everything from the jump with Wolfpac who I think has been playing the same set since I first saw them about 10 years prior, oh well. Big Hutch was next, mediocre stage performance at best and it kind of killed the crowd, but hey it was still early here.

Next up was the dead man himself, Blaze. He had a huge clock backdrop and did all his standby tracks which the Juggalos sang along to. He even did his version of ICP’s Dead Body Man which was fitting being as it was originally released as a Hallowicked giveaway single in 2002. One of the best things about this tour was how quickly it moved between sets. I’ve been to A LOT of Psychopathic tours and this is by far the best in terms of turnover time between sets.

Co-headliners Twiztid hit the stage next with a backdrop of body parts and a padded room. Jamie Madrox recently lost a lot of weight and with that came tons of energy in their set. From start to finish they were all over the set getting the crowd all riled up. Their set was all over their discography musically. Twiztid played something from every album I believe and it was definitely one of the best I’ve seen out of them. The song selection and crowd interaction was on point which got the juggalos rabid for what was coming next.

The national anthem hits with a circus twist and creepy laughter of clowns. Next thing you know you’re staring at two giant hatchetmen, the letters “ICP” all made up of lightbulbs, and 4 huge bins filled to the brim with Root beer Faygo. From then on you know it’s going to be the madness only the ICP can bring for the next hour. Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope rode out on the stage with these two custom made tricycles and then burst into the song “In Your Face”. From the point of the first lyric and faygo cracked they had the juggalos in their hands. Moshing, crowdsurfing, singing along, titties, and everything else that comes with the territory was in full effect.

They played a pretty basic ICP setlist, but surprised everyone when they brought out Twiztid mid show to perform “Homies” and “The Marsh Lagoon” together. They did the ironic hipster favorite “Miracles” towards the end in which we all made our way past the barricade. Once the closing song “BANG POW BOOM!” started my crew got up on stage and blasted faygo rockets into the sea of juggalos for the next 6 or so minutes until the music stopped the the seemingly endless supply of faygo well… ended.

All in all it was a great show (as always) featuring all the major players on Psychopathic Records roster. The tour has a few dates left and ends with the annual Hallowicked Clown Show in Detroit, Michigan on Monday, October 31st. I suggest checking it out if in any of the areas they are touring this weekend.

Our buddy Igor from Driven By Boredom was there taking pictures as well (like almost all the ones used in this post). Check out his full gallery here. I would like to publicly apologize to my cab driver as I left a puddle of faygo and confetti in his cab which he didn’t seem to notice, sorry G! Hopefully next time the clowns are in town I can convince Mr. Greg Мишка himself to tag along in the festivities. There should be more galleries from this show from our buddy Jason Shaltz and Nik as well in the near future so keep those eyes peeled!

The Juggalo… THE MOVIE!

Saturday, October 8th, 2011

Not to be confused with the recently released American Juggalo by Sean Dunne, but there’s a second Juggalo documentary about to hit the web. This one however is by our pals, the brother and sister duo of The Shaltzes, masters of documenting all things Juggalo related. There’s even a cool old photo of Jason in full clown paint in the teaser clip.

We’ll post more as we learn more.

American Juggalo: Juggalos Sound Off In a New Documentary

Tuesday, September 27th, 2011

It’s all about the family.

Media attention on the last round of the Gathering was a ever-crowded peak where coverage big and small took to the Cave-In-Rock, Iowa campgrounds in search of a story. There were in-depth, undercover pieces by Gawker Media (for their site Deadspin), photo pieces galore (like Driven By Boredom’s boob happy recap) and a 34-page piece by writer Kent Russell, which appeared both on its own and in the latest issue of n+1 Magazine. But there was one content that seemed to be lacking- video. Sure, there was 2009′s Psychopathic Video release, A Family Underground,” but I’m taking in terms of an unattached video project, something made by an outsider.

Sharing the same name with the above-mentioned Russell article is a brand new documentary, Amercian Juggalo, released via Vimeo yesterday. The 23-minute film is a unfiltered look at those in attendance at the annual week-long Gathering, where these people come from, who they are and just how intoxicating the whole experience is for them. First and foremost, Juggalos are devoted fans- that you can’t deny and while watching this film, it’s surely the first thing you’ll notice. The drugs, the confusion or that lanky, ripped-as-hell teen named Maniac just seem to just dissipate into the background, replaced by fixed focus face-painted portraits and the perpetual cheer of “Whoop Whoop!”

Sure, these rabid folks are familiar to most of you Bloglin readers, but for most of the country, they are ones of constant scorn and misunderstanding, so it comes as no surprise that the film’s young director, Brooklyn’s Sean Dunne, professes his goals simply and concisely in just “letting the Juggalos speak their minds.”

Watch the whole thing above.

Requiem for Juggalos: Jack White Produces New Mozart-Inspired ICP Single

Wednesday, August 31st, 2011

In a collaboration out of the leftest of left fields, Jack White has produced a single for the Insane Clown Posse. “Leck Mich Im Arsch,” which translates to “Lick Me In the Arse,” is based around a “lost” composition from Mozart. Probably not the future Mozart had in mind for his passion, but he was insane enough that I’d like to think he’d be down with the Clown.

And as if all of that wasn’t enough of a “WTF!?!?,” JEFF the Brotherhood are the backing band on the track. The single will be released on White’s Third Man Records in mid-September.
