Our fourteenth installment of the Keep Watch Mix Series comes to you courtesy of the undisputed wobble champions, Jack Beats. A mix jam-packed of exclusive unreleased edits, re-edits and remixes by the London based duo that have been touring non-stop over the past year. The mix spans from ultra-hyper to the subdued including the much anticipated Breakage “Hard” remix from Caspa & The Others and a Sidney Samson “Riverside” Jack Beats re-edit of the Breakage remix. A perfect 40 minute remedy for your Black Friday/Thanksgiving coma.
Jack Beats are a multiple DMC Award winning DJ duo made up of Niall Dailly (DJ Plus One of Scratch Perverts fame) and Ben Geffin (The Mixologists). They have had an immediate and profound effect on the club scene since teaming up in 2007; producing transcendent remixes for La Roux and Florence & The Machine amongst others and releasing their genre bending ‘U.F.O’ EP on Hervé’s Cheap Thrills Records.

Citing influences as diverse as Timbaland, Rage Against the Machine, A Guy Called Gerald and Sebastian, the two began to hone a style fusing House, Hip Hop, Drum & Bass and Dubstep with Electro and Baltimore Club, and what emerged was a cutting edge sound.
Support from major industry players Zane Lowe, Annie Mac, the Crookers and the entire blogsphere have propelled them to the next level in ‘09. They are currently finishing off their last remix of the year to start work on their debut album which will be released in May 2010.

Keep Watch Vol. 13 comes to you courtesy of Atlanta, Georgia’s very own DJ Klever, world renowned turntablist and party-starter. Just in time for Halloween revelry, the mix includes hits by the likes of L.A. Riots, Little Boots, Yeah Yeah Yeah’s and Klever himself. A healthy selection of upbeat tracks with a little darkness thrown in for festive good measure. Don’t get superstitious, this is a rare lucky #13.
An all-american kid at heart, Klever was born to bluesman Juke Joint Johnny and quickly set forth into the world of music courtesy of the drums. A childhood full of skateboarding, baseball and apple pie gave way to the creativity that has led him to work with the likes of A-Trak, Kill the Noise, Craze, Steed Lord and countless others. As a turntablist, Klever was part of the world famous Allies crew, battling his way to the world championships. When he is not touring the world, he is working hard in the studio on his upcoming EP and has remixes coming out for Steed Lord, Barletta and Autoerotique.
While still on his American tour, Rusko – one of our favorite UK Dubstep practitioners has come through for us with Keep Watch XII. Incorporating live tracks from his current tour, Rusko’s unique mix of dark yet upbeat production fits the keep watch series perfectly and we’re honored to bring you Keep Watch XII – Rusko. Peep his upcoming dates on his Myspace.
Rusko was born in Leeds to a musical family. Whether it be his family’s pianos, guitars, banjos and saxophones…or the heavy reggae and dub sound systems of later years in Leeds, music has always been an integral part of Rusko’s life. After graduating from Leeds university with a degree in musical performance, Rusko discovered the world of Dubstep through Sub Dub, Rusko connected with the sound and moved down to London to further explore his passion. Collabs with the likes of Diplo, Wiley and remixes for A-Trak & Adele, Rusko is one to keep an eye on.

Don’t forget to download Keep Watch Vol. XI: Ninjasonik!
You know we love Ninjasonik. So it?s only fitting that on the heels of the Darth Baño party and mix, that we handed over the keys to the Brooklyn trio for Keep Watch Volume 11. In fine fair, this mix is straight-up get-drunk-and-high-bathroom-fucking music. And If a ramped up mix wasn?t enough, Mishka and Ninjasonik are hosting a release party on Friday August 28 at Webster Hall.
Ninjasonik is a musical collaboration started by New York based artists Reverend McFly (MC and DJ – a.k.a. Jah Jah Brown) and Teenwolf (Producer and DJ – a.k.a. k.ross), later fortified by the addition of Telli “Bathroom Sexxx” Federline on the motormouth. The varied backgrounds combine to coin a totally newfangled club punk rap sound. Regularly covering seminal punk bands like Bad Brains and Minor Threat and remixing some of their favorite bands like The Death Set, Matt & Kim, and Team Robespierre has propelled Ninjasonik into a league of their own. Ninjasonik began to record original songs in 2007, and have played and recorded with a long list of amazing artists, such as Japanther, Spankrock, Dan Deacon, The Cool Kids, Matt & Kim, Ponytail, Fiasco, the Homosexuals, Vivian Girls, Best Fwends, and many more and in summer of 2008 they released their first EP on Chief Records.
Keep Watch Vol. X: Major Laser T-Shirt Available Now!
Today marks the tenth installment of our illustrious Keep Watch mixes. From the outset, music has always played a big role in shaping our brand. With strong ties to various artists, and a creative team that is constantly inspired and influenced by their musical predilections the Keep Watch mixes have become as much of the Mishka fabric as our seasonal line.
Ten volumes and approximately one year later, the mixes have greatly exceeded all expectations. As a result, we?ve decided to celebrate the 10th installment in a special way. For our tenth volume, we enlisted the services of electro-reggae-dancehall virtuoso Major Lazer. And to coincide with the special mix, Mishka produced a limited run Major Lazer tee designed by Skinny Digital. Long time supporters of Mishka and often considered family, the t-shirt was a perfect way to compliment the Major Lazer curated mix which is available in Black and White.
Keep Watch Vol. X: Major Lazer by Мишка Bloglin
Major Lazer is a Jamaican commando who lost his arm in the secret Zombie War of 1984. The US military rescued him and repurposed experimental lazers as prosthetic limbs. Since then Major Lazer has been a hired renegade soldier for a rogue government operating in secrecy underneath the watch of M5 and the CIA. His cover is that of a dancehall night club owner from Trinidad and he enlisted the help of long-time allies and uber-producers, Diplo and Switch, to produce his first LP. His true mission is to protect the world from the dark forces of evil that live just under the surface of a civilized society. He fights vampires and various monsters, parties hard, and has a rocket powered skateboard.
Talk about worlds colliding, this month’s Keep Watch comes courtesy of Congorock, and fuses together every conceivable genre in electronic music to create a sound all it’s own. Completely balanced, it’s a perfect mix to kick off spring and summer with, featuring a range of the biggest tracks from the darker side of the spectrum to the poppy, lighter side of things. Here’s a forty minute look into what’s happening in Italy’s underground Dance scene.
Citing influences from Dubsided to Capcom, Congorock blends together a range of styles to create his own brand of effervescent house. Originally from the southern town of Lecce, Congorock now calls Milan home, and his music is very rapidly crossing borders worldwide. Having recently released his first EP for Fool’s Gold “Runark,” Congorock joins the ranks with Crookers and Bloody Beetroots at the top of Italy’s burgeoning electronic scene.

This month’s Keep watch comes courtesy of another Croydon, London alumni – Plastician brings us this month’s mix – a compilation of his favorite Dubstep and Grime tracks from the past year. Hits from the likes of Rusko, Skream and Crissy Criss, along with many others makes this month’s Dubstep-heavy installment the perfect part mix for the start of spring. Enjoy.
Plastician has been rocking the UK underground for 8 years now and has been seen all over Europe as well as North America. His recent induction into a BBC Radio 1 slot really is a testament to his popularity in the scene, complimented by his ongoing Rinse FM show at 11pm on Monday evenings and his infamous May Mixes (new one dropping soon). Plastician still finds the time to run his own label Terrorythm Recordings and just released his new album “Beg to Differ.”

Keep Watch is back for lucky number 7. This month we’ve got Brooklyn’s own Trouble & Bass who really need no introduction at all, quite simply they’re the masterminds behind some of the heaviest music production and the rawest parties New York has ever seen. They’re Mishka family and we’re hyped they put this together for us (and you). The mix is flooded with tracks and remixes from virtually the whole T&B extended family. Right from the start, Keep Watch 7 – Trouble & Bass has the sole purpose of getting the party started and keeping it going. Here’s 35 minutes of Trouble & Bass.
Trouble & Bass is the sound of staying up all night and getting wild in the streets, sweat dripping off the walls and speakers pounding in your face. For the last four years, T&B has brought raw energy back to dancefloors worldwide by effortlessly flipping bass music in all its forms. The crew is full of surprises, taking influences from house, electro, dubstep, drum & bass, metal and hip-hop to form an entirely new genre simply known as “heavy bass.”
