You may remember that a short while ago we did a small feature about legendary heavy metal artists Ed Repka to coincide with his Lobotomizer T-shirt from our Spring ‘08 collection. It’s sad to think that our little feature may have been the most in-depth thing written recently about such an influential artist! Shortly after premiering the article Noise Magazine out of France contacted us about transcribing the article into French for an upcoming issue. We were very honored that a music mag of Noise’s caliber thought our feature was worthy enough to be translated and grace their pages!
That issue featuring the Repka Interview, now translated into French will be hitting the stands on Monday. So for all of our fans and friends out in France, keep a look out! We can’t wait to get our copies in the mail!
Sports Illustrated has an image archive of all their Swimsuit Issue covers, which I recommend checking out as a cure for mid-day boredom. I actually haven’t picked up a Swimsuit issue in years, but the re-up’ing of the annual swimsuit calendar is a tacky custom I’ve come to appreciate and cherish.
While we’re on the subject of girls in swimsuits over the past few decades, here’s a lil’ sumthin’ you might enjoy.
Warp Magazine out of Japan has it’s new issue on the newsstands right now. Inside you’ll find a nice little feature and interview with us.
All of the product is from our Summer 2008 collection due to drop in the next few weeks.
For better pictures I guess you’ll have to head over to your favorite Japanese bookstore… or give us a couple of weeks and we’ll do the whole preview and look-book thing.
Our Shanghai friend Nathan Chang sent us a few copies of his new magazine out of Shanghai, RACK Magazine.

“Our goal is simple: To bring street culture a little closer to all our readers. To give the oppurtunity to explore both the foreign heritage as well the unique “street life” in China today.”

My girlfriend passed along to me this recent feature from New York Magazine’s fashion section about people who only wear one color every single day. Besides it being a real commitment, a serious shopping challenge it in some ways is probably some sort of form of OCD! I was delighted to find Stephan Merritt of the Magnetic Fields as one of the people featured and had no clue he only wore shades of Brown. But what made me happier was seeing our old neighbor Rebecca Turbow who runs her Safe Clothing Label across the hall from where our very first Mishka office was located. However when we used to see Rebecca regularly in the hallways she was still in her turquoise/teal/sea foam phase. It’s a pretty interesting and amusing feature!
As promised from our front-page, here are some images from RezeonoMikon, a new zine from Rezeon Scum! Straight from Japan via hell and now available now at our Pop-Up Shop!

Viceland.com has an amazing article on the oral history of Williamsburg’s long gone but never forgotten den of snortitude… Kokie’s! Seriously do yourself a favor and read it, haha!
This sparked Mr. Malta and myself to reminisce on just how sketchy and bombed out Williamsburg once was! I remember my mother looking at me with this look of “Are you fucking crazy?” when I mentioned I was going there at some point during high school to watch my friend’s band record. Even as early as 2000-2001 it was pretty sketchy to start venturing south Grand street, oh how times have changed.
I just noticed that our good friend and longtime illustrator Jon Vermilyea has a two page comic in the current Fiction issue of Vice Magazine. Congrats Jon!
We’re back from Sweden with a lot to catch up on and a lot to post about which we’ll start getting tomorrow morning… hopefully. We’ll have pictures, this, that and the other. In the meantime why don’t you head over to the newly relaunched Fräshnessfor a video interview with us in Sweden while we were drunk. Hopefully that holds you over until we get some sleep.
So if you happen to be in town, grab a free beer, and buy a t-shirt! All proceeds from T-Shirt sales will be donated to StreetSmart Australia, so buy a ton of em!
Ever wonder how it would feel to die by drowning, heart attack, blood loss, burning, decapitation, electrocution, falling, hanging, lethal injection, and explosive decompression? Any of these would be pretty gnarly, but if you’re interested one of my favorite publications, New Scientist, has some insight as to how your last seconds of life might be. Read about your fate here!
INQMND strikes again with another great in depth interview. This time it’s with our friend, the legendary Dante Ross. If you’re unfamiliar with the name, please go familiarize yourself with this legend to the culture.
The Fader did a nice little write up about our Pop-Up Shop on their blog. Thanks to The Fader for stopping by! Now all of you come check it out for yourselves… only 50 shopping days till Christmas!
