Goddamn, it’s been a long time since I had to write one of these. Finally, a beautiful lady out in the earth remembered what a great idea it was to put Keep Watch eyeballs on your nails. Thanks very much @Kikilee22, we see you out there with your swagged out self. I wanna see more Mishka nails up in this planet!

In all seriousness, look at the right side of the blog. You’ll see we have all of the different article types listed there, and the amount of articles there are in each one. Nails Did! only has 15. 15! Fuck, Tattoos has 57, and we only put shit in there when people get our logo tatted on them. So I guess people are more likely to get a bloody eyeball on them 4 life than paint it on their nails. Thanks everyone, I think!

Islay Taylor has created a new series of gold-plated knuckle dusters inset with actual acrylic nails. They’re inspired by the wonky Kid Sister and Kanye song “Pro Nails,” and the results are a dream for any lady who loves to get her nails did but occasionally needs to throw down as well. Now you can fight and rather than fucking up your gems, tiger stripes, and/or airbrushed tropical scenes in the process, you can fuck someone else up with them instead! Perfection.

I’m really loving this recent resurgence in Мишка related body art/accessorizing or whatever the heck you’re supposed to call it. Tattoos abound, and now, Мишка nails! Our very own photographer Gill used to do these, and now Mopster Kaya Pereira has gone and outfitted her fingers with some serious Мишка swagger.

She claims to have done them freehand, which is impressive and amazing. My artistic skills are those of some sort of subhuman (not to mention the shaky hands), so any drawing ability is always impressive. But to do it on your own hand? Seems very Escher or something. Awesome.

Gill’s got some competition! I just found these on our twitter stream… Supa Nails out in Berlin did German based DJ, Producer and Promoter Anna Love’s nails up in a Мишка motif. There’s Bear Mops, Keep Watch eyeballs, hell even the mouth from the underside of the Keep Watch New Era brim!

We love seeing these, so girls if we ever inspire your latest trip to the nail salon send it over to us at bloglin@mishkanyc.com. It’s not only tattoos we love around here. Also while you’re at it, also harass Gill to post her nails every time she gets them did.

Naomi Yasuda has been getting a lot of hype for her work with nails lately and has got an impressive client list that includes Cortney Love, Steven Tyler, Kim Cattrall and even Lady Gaga to name just a few.

Yesterday, Japanese Public Television sent a TV crew down to Hello Beautiful to tape a segment with Naomi as she did up our own Gill Harrison’s nails in a Keep Watch motif. We had our intern Vinny tag along and snap a few pics… The segment is set to air in October and we’ll post the video as soon as we can. In the meantime anyone out there who wants to get their nails done up proper, guy or gal give Naomi a visit!

In the spirit of the 4th of July, the Release of our Amerikana New Era and our 4th of July party (starting up in a few hours by the way) I bring to you my all American nails!

Sometimes i like to rock my nails just plain clear. I’ll even let the size number hang out. My dance teacher says these are the most ghetto things she has ever seen and i guess it’s kinda like walking out the house with slippers and curlers on, but these nails straight up match her shoes so …ok, whatever you say.

Besides, I love acrylic, lucite, clear plastic…I’m starting to collect it.  Also there’s something pretty creepy about clear nails even though they are a bit more inconspicuous then the usual garishness. The nail game is just on overload, there are so many awesome ideas out there. I just can’t settle on one right now. So if anyone has any suggestions or themes…I’m asking for it.  Ctina suggested 8-bit graph 3d nails or dark skies with lightning storm. Hey L’Amour, have you ever jumped on some nail art?

This image really doesn’t do ‘em justice, but these nails are straight up reflective like this disco ball. My girl ‘Mean Mamacita Ctina’ finally came back from Brazil where she was doing nails for the Perelli Calendar shoot with Terry Richardson.  She is Terry’s one and only nail chick and usually my one and only cuz she’s my friend, is basically free, and she likes to experiment on me. That’s the kind of girl you want. She wasn’t very happy to see my last post and find out I had had a one time thing with a Japanese girl, I mean, Naomi from Hello Beautiful. But I pleaded and explained that “Since you were out of town”, “It was a one time deal”, “I was in need”,  that “I had always had a thing for the Japanese acrylic curve style that the American girls just don’t do”…and… I’d “never do it again”.

She said, “Fine, but you can afford her then you pay me a lil this time and ill give you something so that you can take a long hard look at yourself and find what you really want!”  And then she presented me with a brand new array of heat transfer reflective options and I went dotty.

Oh! And! lil silver heart ring gifted to me and made by my lil Riko, Rika Shimada.  (she USED to do nails…whew)

In painfully slow motion Carrie proceeded to pull this congealed alien mass out of her nose. I have never come so close to puking from something visual, but somehow was strangely turned on by the whole situation.

The aftermath: It looks like someone sacrificed a small animal in our trash can.

Carrie came by 350 today and got a nosebleed. A hefty nosebleed. It was like in Drag Me to Hell when the chick gets one and sprays it all over everyone in her office. Anyway, this girl does nosebleeds with style. She already had the red lipstick to match, then some spilled onto the eye on her Mansonic shirt which was all too fitting. Blood can be fun. If anyone needs to get rid of some, I’m accepting donations. Or at least come in and let me make/watch you bleed.
